Recognising NAIDOC Week

This week is NAIDOC week. It is a time to recognise and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres straight Islander peoples. For Mercy Connect participant, Daniel, it is a very important week that he celebrates each year.

This is Daniel’s story of his life:

My name is Daniel Quinn.
I come from a country town called Trangie.
I am a proud Wiradjuri person.
I am proud of my culture and my totem.
NAIDOC week means a lot to me and my people of Wiradjuri people.
We stick together as one tribe.
I like my aboriginal art.
I like to play the didgeridoo.
I am very proud of my culture.
