As a Disability Support Worker, you will support people with disability to build independence, develop life skills, achieve personal goals and actively participate in their community.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will work alongside participants to support their independence, wellbeing and quality of life. No two days are the same. You will assist people to achieve their goals, develop life skills, participate in their communities and enjoy meaningful experiences that are important to them.

What you’ll do

  • Provide person-centred support with daily living activities.
  • Support participants to access and engage with their local community.
  • Assist with personal care and medication support where required.
  • Support participants to achieve their goals and develop independence.
  • Implement behaviour support and mealtime management plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
  • Support participants to build relationships and social connections.
  • Transport participants to appointments, activities and community outings.
  • Maintain safe, welcoming and well-presented homes and vehicles.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Experience supporting people with disability, mental health challenges or complex support needs.
  • A strong commitment to person-centred practice and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting participants in a variety of environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in changing situations.

Qualifications / willingness to obtain

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Current Driver Licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Current Working With Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)
