HOW WE WORK

Homes designed for real life

Mercy Connect homes are thoughtfully chosen and, where needed, adapted with the people who will live in them at the centre of every decision. We support people to live in genuine homes, within real communities, alongside neighbours and local connections.

Each home is unique. Some are vibrant and social, others offer a quieter, more relaxed environment. We take the time to understand each person, their preferences, goals and support needs, so we can thoughtfully match them with a home that is right for them.

At Mercy Connect, it’s never about filling vacancies. It’s about creating the right fit, building meaningful connections, and supporting each person to live a life that is fulfilling, connected and their own.

Private bedrooms
Every resident has their own private bedroom. No shared sleeping arrangements.
Accessible design
Many of our homes are modified or purpose-built with accessibility in mind, including features like wider hallways, accessible bathrooms, and ramps where needed.
Outdoor spaces
All properties have garden or outdoor areas for quiet time, socialising, or growing things.
Location & transport
Our properties are close to public transport, shops, parks, and community facilities.
Safety & security
Homes are equipped with appropriate safety features without compromising the feeling of home.
Shared living spaces
Communal lounges, kitchens, and dining areas that feel like a real home.

How placement works

Navigating the application process can be tricky. Our team at Mercy Connect is happy to guide you through what’s required, at no cost and with no obligation.

Enquire

Contact us or submit a referral. A member of our team will respond within 1 business day and arrange an initial conversation about your needs and what’s available.

Intake assessment

We complete a needs assessment to understand the right level of support, compatibility requirements, and preferences. This helps us match you to the right home and housemates.

Matching

We identify a suitable vacancy (or add you to the waitlist). We’ll share information about the home and potential housemates before any decisions are made.

Property viewing

You (and family if you wish) visit the home in person or via video. You meet the staff team and, where appropriate, current residents. No commitment at this stage.

Agreement & move-in

Once everyone agrees it’s the right match, we put the service agreement in place and arrange a move-in date. The support team starts with a detailed handover and getting-to-know-you period.

OUR MATCHING PROCESS

Finding the right home and the right housemates

Who you live with matters enormously. We take the matching process seriously and involve you and your support network at every step. You will never be placed in a home without your agreement.

Family involvement
We consider the level of family involvement each resident and their family expects and how that works across a household.
What we need from you

To match you to the right home, we’ll ask for information including your support needs, daily routines, preferences, current goals, and relevant documentation. Our team will guide you through this.

Your Support Coordinator or LAC can assist with this process, and we’re happy to work with them directly if that’s easier.
