About Basil House

Basil House is a Short Term Accommodation (STA), so residents may change regularly depending on individual needs and bookings. At any given time, you may be staying alongside others who are also building their skills, working towards personal goals, or taking a short break from their usual living arrangements. The environment is supported, respectful, and focused on creating a positive and comfortable experience for everyone during their stay.

We carefully consider compatibility when planning each stay, including support needs, preferences, and communication styles, to help create a comfortable and supportive shared environment. This helps ensure that each person can feel safe, respected, and able to make the most of their time at Basil House.

THIS HOME IS SUITED TO
Basil house is suitable for a person who is transitioning to the next stage of independent living, or needing assistance with identifying the model of support and accommodation needed through planned case management process. Building compatibility with other people in similar situations to share the time at Basil house and the opportunity grow their social network.

The house is suited to a person who is looking for support from staff to build independence through skill development that are developed with their local supports staff and external specialist. This will allow a person to grow and develop the skills they require to transition into the next stage of their lives.

One targeted group is for young people in their early teens that are looking for a model of support when they are turning 18 years old. Looking at short term stays with goals to assist them to prepare them for when they have finished school. Opportunity for allied health specialist to be involved with the team in building support plans and undertaking functional assessments outside of the family home environment.

Basil house is also suited to a person who is transition from another service and needing that support to assist with identifying a suitable accommodation service for them.
Eligibility note
Applicants must be 18 years or over and NDIS funded. An Accommodation Agreement and Service Agreement will be required prior to move-in.
Out of respect for current residents, personal details are not shared publicly. During the viewing process, we’ll share more about the household — and arrange a meet-and-greet at an appropriate time if a match is likely.

Support model at Basil House

Support Rosters are tailored to each resident’s NDIS plan and individual needs. We work with incoming residents and their support networks during the respite intake process to design the right roster before your short stay.
