HELPING people is part of the job for Mercy Connect grounds coordinator, Geoff Bartel.
So it was a bit of a surprise when Kyle Sullivan arrived one morning with a gift of some tomato seedlings.

Love being part of Mercy, learn new skills, achieve attending TAFE, start our car wash business, support is fantastic, moved into a new house
Mercy listen to my idea, I can plan what I want to achieve. I have input in what I do
At Mercy Connect, I can choose the staff that I want to work with me. I can bank my hours and use them as I want to. I make deals with them
I like my programs, we do painting and arts and crafts. We go to the club each fortnight to listen to the live music. I have friends here
Mercy Connect have helped me build my own art studio. I do lots of painting which makes me feel less stress. Having the art space is bringing my culture out of me. I did my first community art exhibition last NADOC week and will do another one next year
I have been with Mercy Connect from 1989, they help me with living independently in my unit, like helping me with cooking and washing. I go to bingo and play the numbers game with staff
With Mercy’s help I have my own flat, friends and my boyfriend. It’s a good life
